Even when I am struggling, I do my best to keep things positive and to help others have a good day. I will avoid topics that cause others distress, taking it upon myself to keep the peace and not confront. I don't see this as avoidance, but keeping things light helps everyone have a better day.
I feel deeply hurt and get very defensive when others bring up vulnerable topics and usually will withdraw or react strongly to protect myself. I see this as argumentative and deeply wounding.
